Road Safety Awareness

The Tamil Nadu Police Traffic Wardens organization held a ” Helmet ” Rally on 12.01.2015 Monday at 10.00a.m near Rippon Buliding (Chennai Corporation). The rally started with the band played by our school students. More than 50 students participated in this event. Free helmets were distributed to the public who did not possess a helmet .Pamphlets on Traffic awareness were also distributed.

Badminton Championship

Akshaya.S XC is ranked Top 7 at National level Badminton Championship.

She also won the Junior State Badminton Doubles Championship held at Coimbatore.

Road Safety Patrol

A unit of Road safety Patrol Traffic Warden orgnisation awarded certificates to

for having participated in the Republic Day Parade contingent 2015.

Memorial Interschool Tournament 2014

Dr.Alagappa Memorial Interschool Tournament is being held consecutively for the past 10 years in our school premises. This year it was held on 25th and 26th of November 2014 and the tournament was declared open by Mr.Patrick, M.PEd, N.I.S Manager, Nehru Stadium SHE & COE Boys. The Volley Ball and Throw Ball match for boys and girls started with immense competition. We are happy and proud to say that nearly 22 schools in and around Purasaiwalkam participated with great interest and enthusiasm.

Dental Camp Report

Times of India in partnership with Saveetha University conducted the Dental Camp on 27.11.2014 at our school premises. The programme started at 8.30 am and went on smoothly till 5.00 pm

Dr.Priya, the Chief Doctor along with 10 dentists examined 1413 students of our school.

The Doctors appreciated the co-operation extended by both the staff and students in achieving a record that will be added in the Guinness book of World Record.

Rally Report

The students of Alagappa Schools unanimously decided to express their heartfelt condolence to the grief stricken families who had lost their dear ones in the brutal terrorist attack . They staged a rally through the streets of Purasavakkam – Chennai, carrying placards “LIVE and Let Live’. They were vociferously expressing their anger against terrorism and mindless brutality against innocent children.


Samathuva Pongal is being celebrated every year in DR.ALAGAPPA SCHOOLS. This year we celebrated today (10.01.15). Director K.V.ANAND was the chief guest of the day. Cine Actors MR.VISHAL and MR.ARYA graced the occasion. Parents-Teachers Association Members, parents and students numbering more than two thousand participated in the function. With a view to give first-hand knowledge of pongal and how it is celebrated traditionally in rural areas.Pongal was cooked in traditional country pot, conducted folk dances and arranged some eateries and thus brought about pucca rural atmosphere in the school atmosphere. This was to enable the urban students to understand the beauty of a village and the life of villagers. Mrs.K.S.Revati welcomed the gathering. Mr.Naresh Kumar, Director,IIT, Madras lit the fire for cooking pongal. Teachers of the school co-ordinated the programme. The parents and the students participated whole-heartedly.

Christmas Celebration Report

The students of Alagappa schools celebrated the spirit of this festive season with Christmas tree lighting ceremony in the school premises.

The Principal welcomed the gathering and felicitated the chief guest Rev.E.Jacob , senior pastor for TELC with a bouquet and gift.

Rev.E.Jacob’s Chritmas message was the lord in the form of man had come to earth to bless everyone. Christmas means joyful occasion and peace to everyone.

To understand and appreciate religious integrity the students as a team showcased a colorful array of dance, card signing, skit and ramp walk.

The highlight of the day was the galla surprise entry of the Santa Claus to bless and distribute sweets to everyone.

Or staff Mrs.Reena Rai proposed the vote of thanks and the programme ended with the National Anthem.

Report on World Cancer Day 2015

VS Hospitals, Chetpet conducted a pink ribbon formation on the occasion of World Cancer Day, to create awareness on Cancer among students at the University Union Grounds. World Cancer Day is observed to raise awareness and renew our commitment to fight against cancer. Students were educated on the same. The Dias was lined up with eminent people –

Prof. Dr. S.Subramaniam Senior Medical Oncologist; Prof. Dr. Sundar, Consultant, Joint Replacement and Tumor Surgeon; International Athlete Mr. Rajasekar, Coach Madras University; our Principal and a strong pillar of support Mrs. K. S. Revati. Schools like Sivakasi Nadar, MCTM-Trust Centenary School, Corporation School, Presidency School & Colleges like Ethiraj College for Women, Jain Vidyalaya etc., participated wherein the greater participation was from Alagappa Schools. The children undertook a pledge to promote early detection of cancer, undergo screening annually and spread the word on Cancer.
